Now in 2026, we ask the harder question: where do we go from here?

The energy that filled the streets has met a familiar enemy not just tear gas and live bullets, but the oldest political weapon in Kenya's arsenal: tribal division. The same politicians who were targets of the protests have worked methodically to sort Gen Z back into ethnic boxes, fracturing a generation that once called itself tribeless.

But the 2027 elections are coming. And the stakes have never been higher.

Baraza La Wananchi brings together voices from across the movement to examine what has been won, what has been lost, and what must be done before the ballot box becomes the next battlefield.

The 6.25 Movement, in collaboration with Sankofa, will host the first installment of our Politics of Uganda series this Saturday.
